Muthu is the Chief Investment Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, stewarding the institution’s assets to create returns that advance the CHOA mission. Previously, he oversaw the strategic and sustainable growth of Group Health Foundation’s investments. Muthu is a seasoned asset management professional, with experience investing globally across various asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, real assets, and both public and private investments in emerging economies. He has led investment teams and strategies at Emory Investment Management, Covariance Capital Management, the University of Richmond, the State Board of Administration of Florida, and RSM Equico. Outside of work, Muthu reads a lot of nonfiction books, stays active by bicycling or jogging, and enjoys watching Tamil movies. He also likes to travel, including visiting his family and community in India. Muthu holds a BHM from Mangalore University and an MBA from Rollins College.

Ali Bayler is a managing director at New Republic Partners, leader of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic office, and member of the firm’s investment committee. She invests for and advises multi-generational families and institutions, leveraging the firm’s extensive resources across research and portfolio management, governance, and generational planning. Ali formerly worked as a portfolio manager with Brown Advisory and as a managing director with Spider Management, the University of Richmond’s endowment investment office. She served in various roles with global law and boutique asset management firms earlier in her career. Over the past 25 years she has gained valuable perspectives across all asset classes, alternative and traditional investments, and portfolio construction. Ali is involved on numerous boards and Investment Committees including The Community Foundation Serving Richmond, The Nature Conservancy of Virginia, and Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia. She is past chair of CARITAS, participated in Leadership Metro Richmond and co-founded Virginia Women in Finance. Ali holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. She is certified as a Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Nolan Bean serves as FEG’s chief investment officer and head of portfolio management, developing strategies to help ensure clients receive a consistent investment experience. He is a member of the firm’s investment committee and portfolio management team. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown College, Nolan began his career in investments as a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed Financial Services. He later attended the University of Cincinnati to complete his Master of Business Administration as a member of the Kauffman Entrepreneur Internship Program, which matches accomplished students with companies offering internships in venture capital. Nolan began working at FEG in 2004. He worked directly with FEG’s then chief investment officer and over his career has advised more than a dozen chief investment officers at various endowments/foundations and healthcare systems. Those partnerships have all helped shape his approach to managing long-term pools of capital. In addition to his position on the FEG Leadership Team, Nolan is part of the FEG Board of Directors. Outside of FEG, he is a member and past president of the CFA Society in Cincinnati and serves on the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Cincinnati Board of Directors, Academy for Institutional Investors Editorial Committee, as well as the Seven Hills School Board of Trustees as the Investment Committee chair. Nolan was born in Nebraska, but attended high school in Columbus, Ohio, where he grew up loving sports and even earned a baseball scholarship to Georgetown College. Now, you can find Nolan coaching little league, and working diligently to translate his baseball swing into a golf swing. His love for music is widely known, especially his admiration for John Prine. If you ask about his greatest concert memory, he will share fond memories of Tom Petty and Chris Singleton performing live at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

J.P. Boyd, CAIA, joined Golden LEAF in February 2017 as Golden LEAF’s investment officer. He is involved in all aspects of the investment process. Prior to joining Golden LEAF, J.P. was an investment officer at the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission (RSIC) in Columbia, South Carolina. He spent eight years at RSIC and oversaw a $2.7 billion low-beta hedge fund portfolio of the $27.7 billion Plan. Prior to RSIC, J.P. was a research intern at the Palmetto Institute. J.P. received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business where he double majored in international business and finance. He also is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Mary is the CEO and CIO at Acansa Investment Management Group. Mary is the former CIO of Emory University and founder of Emory Investment Management – a position she held for nearly 17 years. During her tenure, Mary successfully led the investment programs for Emory University’s endowment ($7 Billion), defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans ($2.3 Billion), operating bank ($1.5 Billion), hospital reserves, trusts, and insurance assets. Prior to joining Emory, Mary was Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Xerox Corporation. Mary’s entire career has been institutional investing, with prior positions including the Virginia Retirement System, SmithKline, BellSouth and Merck pension plans. Mary has overseen internal equity portfolios, invested fixed income and futures portfolios, built global, multi-asset portfolios, and designed investment options. She serves on the Board of the Woodruff Arts Center (Investment Committee) and the Robert Toigo Foundation (Audit Committee Chair). She is an advisor to the Zeist Foundation and an investment committee member for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Mary has an MBA specializing in Finance from St. John’s University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Nicholas Csicsko joined Trinity Wall Street in 2016 as part of the organization’s first internal investment office. Nicholas works on a small team as a generalist helping to build and oversee Trinity’s $3.5B Endowment. Prior to Trinity, Nicholas was a member of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s investment team. Nicholas received a BA from Indiana University, MM and PhD from the Juilliard School, and holds both the CFA and CAIA designations.

Celia Dallas is the Chief Investment Strategist and a Partner at Cambridge Associates.

Celia leads the firm’s global investment strategy and chairs the Tactical Asset Allocation Committee. As the author of the quarterly VantagePoint publication, she shapes the firm’s perspective on markets and investment opportunities. With 30 years at the firm, she has driven research and thought leadership on portfolio construction, tactical asset allocation, artificial intelligence (AI), endowment spending, and liquidity management. Celia is a frequent speaker at industry events, recognized for her ability to translate complex investment concepts into actionable guidance.

Outside of work, Celia serves as Board Member and Investment Committee Chair of the Virginia Environmental Endowment.

Before joining the firm, Celia delivered market analysis for Fortune 500 clients at Harlan Brown & Company and conducted research on retirement income security at the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI).

Celia holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at University of Virginia and a BA in Economics from University of Pennsylvania.

Jim is responsible for setting the course for the company, leading our corporate strategy, and ensuring that Verger remains competitively positioned to serve our clients’ complex needs.

He served as Verger’s Chief Investment Officer from inception until July 2023, overseeing all investment decisions of the firm and prior to founding Verger, was Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer at Wake Forest University, responsible for investment of the University’s endowment, working capital and life income assets.  Before joining Wake Forest, Jim served as Managing Director at Wilshire Associates Inc., and Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for Wilshire Funds Management, the money management arm of Wilshire Associates.  At Wilshire, Jim was responsible for providing leadership on asset allocation, investment policy and investment manager selection.  Jim served as the Chairman of the Wilshire Funds Management Investment Committee and served as Portfolio Manager for all of Wilshire Fund Management’s alternative investment portfolios.

Jim holds a BBA in finance from Villanova University, where he was a member of the NCAA Division I men’s varsity soccer team.

Additionally, Jim currently serves as a member of the Institutional Investor Endowments and Foundations Advisory Board and as the Treasurer of the James Denmark Loan Fund.  He also sits on the SEI Canada Independent Review Committee as an Independent Director.

Robert W. Durden, CFA, is the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Investment Officer of UVIMCO. As CEO, Robert provides leadership for all aspects of UVIMCO’s operations and serves as UVIMCO’s primary representative to the University, related foundations, and the public. As CIO, Robert is responsible for the investment management of UVIMCO’s Long Term Pool, overseeing the asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management, and manager selection activities of the investment staff. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Robert served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where he oversaw the hospital’s Foundation and other investment assets, totaling approximately $3 billion. Robert was previously the Managing Director of Private Investments at Morgan Creek Capital Management, and directed $4.5 billion of private investments across private equity, energy and natural resources, and real estate. He has also worked with Legg Mason/Western Asset Management, Ritchie Capital Management, and Merrill Lynch’s Middle Market M&A group. Robert received a B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurship, with honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Robert is a CFA charterholder.

Ms. Fefer is a senior investment professional with over 20 years of experience in investment management, asset allocation, and organizational development. Ms. Fefer is a former Investment Manager at DUMAC, Inc., a professionally staffed investment office that manages $27 billion of endowment and other Duke-related assets. Ms. Fefer led private investments in emerging and established general partners across venture capital, leveraged buyout, credit, natural resources, and real estate for 15 years, and prior to that focused on public securities. She has served on the boards of Rock the Street Wall Street and the American Dance Festival and currently serves on the Editorial Committee for the Academy of Institutional Investors and on the boards of Global Connections for Change and Kaleidoscope Dance Theater. Ms. Fefer earned a bachelor of arts in mathematics from Duke University and is a CFA charterholder.

Vanita is Managing Director of DFO Management, LLC. Previously, she was the managing director of public investments for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s $14 billion investment portfolio. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2016, she was the Director of Research at Ehrenkranz Partners, L.P., a New York-based multi-family office, where she was responsible for investments across asset classes, including fixed income, equities, hedge funds, private equity, and real assets. Before joining Ehrenkranz Partners, L.P. Vanita served as a Director in alternative investments at Credit Suisse, where she was responsible for research and portfolio management across several hedge fund strategies. Prior to Credit Suisse, she held roles in asset management at The Blackstone Group and J.P. Morgan Chase. Vanita serves on the Board of the Prison Law Office, a California-based organization that strives for fair and humane treatment of prisoners, and Neighbors Together, a New York City-based non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in Central Brooklyn. She earned her BA in Mathematics and Economics from Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut.

Susanne Gealy is a Senior Director of the investments team at CommonSpirit Health (formerly Dignity Health) and is based in San Francisco. She leads the organization’s public equity and directional hedge fund investments. In 2019, Dignity Health and Catholic Health Initiative merged to form CommonSpirit Health, which is the largest not-for-profit health system in the US, dedicated to providing quality, compassionate health care. The organization has a $21 billion investment portfolio, allocated across the long term strategic operations, retirement benefits, endowment, and insurance pools of capital.

Prior to joining Dignity Health in 2018, Susanne spent 10 years at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, in Austin, a $150 billion retirement plan. At TRS, she was responsible for the $26 billion external equity investment program comprising US, international, emerging markets, and global equity managers, and actively participated in the emerging manager program of newer, smaller and/or diversity oriented investment managers. Before joining TRS, Susanne worked in New York at Investcorp, Lazard Asset Management, a family office, and Banc of America Securities. She began her career in finance at JP Morgan in equity derivatives. Prior to attending business school, Susanne worked in the field of structural engineering in San Francisco. Susanne holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She has a M.S. and B.S. in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

David Gilmore is the Chief Investment Officer of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. The Foundation has $3.2 billion in assets and will make over $150 million in grants this year. The portfolio is invested across all asset classes including public equities, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and real assets. Prior to joining the Foundation, David helped start The Ohio State University investment office in 2009 and served in several senior roles. The investment office was responsible for the investment management of the University’s $3.5 billion long-term investment pool. David was previously a partner at Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors, Gerber/Taylor is an independent investment advisory firm. During his tenure the firm consulted on over $20 billion in assets and managed over $3 billion in discretionary fund of funds mainly focused on hedge funds and private equity investments. David earned his BBA from Baylor University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Memphis. David holds the Certified Financial Planner™ professional (CFP®) designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Larissa Herczeg is the Head of Seeding for Oak Street Real Estate Capital (Oak Street), a Division of Blue Owl. Ms. Herczeg is a member of the Oak Street’s Investment Committee. Ms. Herczeg is responsible for all aspects of Oak Street’s Seeding & Strategic Capital business, including investment sourcing, due diligence, selection and portfolio management and reporting.

Ms. Herczeg’s activities include co-founding Women in Real Estate, serving as a Trustee of Roosevelt University, Co-Chair of the Roosevelt University Women’s Leadership Council, a mentor for the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leader’s In Real Estate Initiative, a past mentor for the Toigo Foundation and serving as a guest speaker at the University of California-Berkeley, Kellogg School of Management and the University of Notre Dame.

Prior to Oak Street, Ms. Herczeg was responsible for global real estate investing at Morgan Creek Capital Management, Franklin Templeton Real Estate Advisors and the Credit Suisse Customized Fund Investment Group (now known as GCM Grosvenor). Ms. Herczeg received a B.A. with honors in Government and Economics from the University of Notre Dame, a Master’s degree with honors in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Juris Doctor degree with honors from Columbia University Law School.

Brian joined The College of William and Mary Foundation in 2005 to serve as its first Chief Investment Officer overseeing all of the investment management functions for the endowment including asset allocation and manager selection and review. Chartered in 1693, by King William III and Queen Mary II of England, The College of William and Mary is the second oldest college in America. Prior to joining William and Mary, Brian was the first Director of Alternative Investments for the Indiana University Foundation in Bloomington, Indiana, where he launched their Alternative Investment Program, including allocations to hedge funds, venture capital, private equity, and timberland. Prior to joining the I.U. Foundation, Brian was a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Harris Investment Management in Chicago. In 2011, Brian received the Institutional Investor Small Endowment of the Year Award. Brian received his B.S. and M.B.A. from Bowling Green State University.

Ray Jacobson has been the Chief Investment Officer at Davidson College since 2008. He leads a small, experienced team that oversees all aspects of investing the college’s endowment. The portfolio has a significant allocation to alternatives, especially hedge funds and venture capital. Davidson’s endowment has consistently achieved strong absolute, relative, and risk-adjusted returns. Prior to Davidson, Mr. Jacobson served for four years as the first investment officer for the Golden LEAF Foundation, a nonprofit established to increase economic opportunities in North Carolina. He began his endowment career in 2001 at DUMAC, the investment office for Duke University. Earlier in his career, he worked at Bloomberg Financial Markets and Brown Advisory. He received an M.B.A. from Duke University, an M.S. from Clemson University, and a B.A. from Rutgers University. Mr. Jacobson has been a CFA Charterholder since 2001. He serves on the Board of Woodlawn School. Ray lives in the town of Davidson with his wife and they have four children.

Ms. Johns joined the New Jersey Department of the Treasury as Head of Private Equity (NJ Treasury’s Division of Investment) in 2023. Previously she was with the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Private Equity Group. Ms. Johns has over 15 years of investment experience and managing a global portfolio of institutional alternative investment assets. Ms. Johns has expertise and highly developed personal networks with top performing private equity and venture funds. Ms. Johns was recently included on Trusted Insight’s 2020 list of Top 30 Pension Private Equity Investors. Ms. Johns is co-President of the Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN), and a member of both ILPA’s Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council and the SEO Alternative Investments Limited Partner Advisory Council. In 2018 PEWIN awarded Maryland with the 2018 Limited Partner award for Ms. Johns’ work in transforming the private equity industry with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Beth was formerly a Senior Investment Consultant at Pavilion, a Mercer Practice. She serviced 6 endowment, foundation and family office clients with over $9 billion in aggregate assets under advisement. For these clients, Beth focused on projects relating to asset allocation, investment manager selection, performance evaluation, and fund operations and governance. Beth’s prior professional experience includes work as an Investment Director for Vanderbilt University’s endowment, where she was responsible for investments across traditional equities and bonds, marketable alternatives, oil and gas and private equity. She started her investment career as an Investment Analyst at Duke Management Company, managing investment projects across all asset classes for Duke University’s endowment office. Beth attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Graduate School where she completed coursework in Economics. She holds a BA in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and German from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Beth has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations. She is a member of the CFA Institute and a past board member of the CFA Society of St. Louis and the Nashville Society of Financial Analysts. Throughout her career, Beth has remained active in her community, sitting on several not-for-profit boards of directors, previously serving as the Investment Committee Chair and then Chair of the Board for the Missouri Foundation for Health, a $1 billion healthcare foundation in St. Louis. In 2008, she received the Foundation and Endowment Money Management’s Non-Profit Consultant of the Year Award.

Kristopher N. Kapoor, CFA is Chief Investment Officer at Bakala Capital. Previously Kris was Chief Investment Officer at Furman University, where he was responsible for the investment oversight of the university’s endowment and debt program. Prior to Furman, Kris was a portfolio manager with BB&T Asset Management and pension investment manager with Michelin North America, Inc. Kris holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is currently a member of the CFA Society of South Carolina. Kris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Furman University and a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, which he earned with distinction.

Christine Zapotoczky Kelleher is managing director, client portfolio management, at Strategic Investment Group, where she directs the development, implementation, and ongoing management of client investment portfolios. Previously, she was chief of investments for the National Gallery of Art, senior investment officer for Georgetown University, and managing director for Avec Capital. Earlier in her career, she served on the executive team of the Central European University, founded by George Soros, in Budapest, Hungary. Christine is a member of the American Chemical Society’s Pensions & Investments Committee, 4-H National Council’s investment subcommittee, and The Academy for Institutional Investors’ editorial board. She received a BA in Russian and international relations from Bucknell University and holds MAs in Russian and East European studies and in Central European history from Georgetown University.

Larry Kochard is a Senior Advisor, board member, and the retired Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Makena Capital Management. Prior to his retirement at the end of 2024, Larry was a member of the three-person Executive Committee that ran the firm. He led the investment process and managed Makena’s investment team. Larry was previously the CEO and CIO of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO). As CEO, Larry provided leadership for all aspects of UVIMCO’s operations and served as UVIMCO’s primary representative to the university, related foundations, and the public. As CIO, Larry was responsible for the investment management of UVIMCO’s Long Term Pool, overseeing the asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management and manager selection activities of the investment staff. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Larry served as CIO at Georgetown University. From 2001 to 2004, he was Managing Director of Equity and Hedge Fund Investments for the Virginia Retirement System. From 1997 to 2004, he taught in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, first as an adjunct and later as a full-time assistant professor. Larry received his BA in Economics from the College of William & Mary, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Rochester, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA Charterholder. Larry currently chairs the Investment Advisory Committee for the Virginia Retirement System, serves on the board and chairs the investment committee for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation and is on the investment committee of Eighteen48. Larry previously served on the board of directors of Janus Henderson Group, Inc. and the Virginia Environmental Endowment, and chaired the investment committee for the College of William & Mary’s endowment. Larry was the 2015 winner of the Rodney H. Adams Award for Endowment Management from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), which recognizes outstanding contributions to university endowment and investment management. Larry is a longtime moderator and speaker at endowment and foundation conferences, and is the author of several industry publications, including Foundation and Endowment Investing: Philosophies and Strategies of Top Investors and Institutions. He will continue to teach investment courses at the University of Virginia.

Nina has spent nearly thirty years in the investment management business. Her career encompasses the marketing and sales of a range of investment products to institutional investors. Her focuses have included private equity and alternative investment funds, in addition to other classes of equity and fixed income products. She spent thirteen years with investment management firms including The Putnam Companies and Invesco (formerly Chancellor LGT Asset Management). As Head of Sales and Client Service at Chancellor Capital, Mrs. Lesavoy developed one of the industry’s premier sales and client service groups comprised of 25 individuals. From 1990 to 1995, her team brought in 200 new institutional relationships and serviced the needs of over 450 clients. In 2000, after working for the CEO of Invesco Institutional, Mrs. Lesavoy joined InvestorForce, an institutional investment technology enabling company, and was instrumental in its development both as an early founding shareholder, as well as supporting the capital raise of $72 million. In 2003, Mrs. Lesavoy co-founded Cue Capital, which successfully advised a range of private equity and alternative funds. With the founding of Avec Capital, Mrs. Lesavoy focuses on personally investing in and assisting emerging PE, VC, and Real Estate funds with differentiated skills and strategies that look to access institutional and high net worth investor groups. Mrs. Lesavoy is an Independent Director on the U.S. SEI Mutual Funds Board, whose assets under management are approximately $100 billion. SEI U.S. Mutual Funds provide a solution-based manager of manager program for institutions globally. Her charitable involvements include New Heights, an organization founded in 2001 that uses inner city youth’s excitement and talent on the basketball court as a means to focus their attention on values and skills that stretch beyond athletic competition to find success in other areas of life, including education and career development. She is also a supporter of the Financial Futures Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2007 with the purpose of identifying, nurturing, and motivating minority or female students who may have career interests in the field of financial services, but lack exposure to the industry. Mrs. Lesavoy also sits on the senior advisory board of The Toigo Foundation. The Toigo Foundation, founded in 1987, provides minority students interested in the asset management business scholarships to the major business schools in the United States. Mrs. Lesavoy is a founding member of PE WIN. She is a member of the Duke alumni association and remains very active with Duke University. She served on the Trinity College board of advisors for two terms. Mrs. Lesavoy also participates in the Stanford University Fiduciary College, training pension fund trustees and staff on important fiduciary and ethical issues. She holds the Series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA. Mrs. Lesavoy is a native New Yorker. She attended The Brearley School for 13 years. She received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Management Science and French Studies.

Rip Mecherle joined the University of Tennessee in August of 2011. He manages the invested assets in the $1.4 billion endowment, as well as the University’s charitable trust platform. He also helps oversee the operating cash for the University system. Combined, the total assets approximate $3 billion. Prior to that, he worked for eleven years as an analyst and portfolio manager in the structured credit and leveraged corporate debt markets, running separately managed accounts, open-end funds, and leveraged closed-end funds. He also spent four years in the non-profit sector. He received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Virginia and a master of business administration from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Ms. Molnar joined Fairfax County Retirement Systems in 2013 and currently serves as Chief Investment Officer of the Fairfax County Police Officers Retirement System, a $2 billion plan. Her responsibilities include all aspects of portfolio management and oversight, including strategic and tactical asset and risk allocation, selection and supervision of external investment managers and risk management. From 2001 until 2012, Ms. Molnar was Vice President, Senior Research Analyst at AIG Investments’ Hedge Fund Solutions Group – both in London and New York. At AIG Investments, Ms. Molnar was responsible for due diligence procedures and research including: sourcing new managers, monitoring current hedge funds, analyzing portfolio risk and performance, making new investment recommendations to an investment committee as well as hedge fund asset allocation recommendations for portfolio construction. She was additionally responsible for portfolio reviews and overall asset allocation recommendations for external client portfolios. Previously, she was Vice President, Market Research Analyst at Citigroup Investments’ Alternative Investment Strategies group. Prior investment management experience includes positions at Paribas Asset Management as well as Trevor Stewart Burton & Jacobsen. Additionally, Ms. Molnar spent one year in Warsaw, Poland launching the first retail mutual funds available to the Polish market as well as two years in Frankfurt, Germany as an intern with J.P. Morgan. Ms. Molnar received a B.S. in Business Administration/Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a CFA charterholder.

Brian Neale is a seasoned investor and leader with more than 20 years of professional experience working with both for-profit and not-for-profit institutional clients. As a process and outcome-oriented professional, Brian focuses on creating value through repeatable processes central to the management of institutional asset pools. His experience includes working with university endowments, defined benefit plans, captive insurance entities, healthcare entities, and liquidity portfolios. Currently, Brian is responsible for discretionary management and oversight of more than $3.0B of investable assets on behalf of the University of Nebraska Foundation. In this role, his principal duties include managing the internal investment team, establishing long-term asset allocation policies and short-term tactical tilts, manager research and selection, portfolio construction, compliance, and oversight for all endowment portfolios. Brian also has sole portfolio management responsibilities for an internal pool of capital that is in excess of $725M. These efforts provide financial support to four distinct campuses with student enrollment of 52,000. Additionally, he serves as principal investment liaison to the Foundation’s Investment Committee and Board of Directors, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents Business and Finance Committee, and numerous other constituent groups. Executive management responsibilities include leading the investment office team as well as serving as a member of the Foundations Executive Leadership Team, DEI Committee, and Retirement Committee. Brian enjoys sharing his knowledge and views with others and is a frequent contributor as a panelist and/or moderator for a variety of industry events. One of his favorite aspects of his professional career is having the opportunity to mentor interns and others new to or interested in the investment profession. In addition, he has served as a guest lecturer for both undergraduate and graduate-level programs.

Kate Nevin, President & Portfolio Manager, is responsible for portfolio management, investment research, and fund monitoring. Prior to joining TSW, she was an analyst with Lehman Brothers in their Equity Prime Brokerage Division with a focus on hedge fund sales. She is member of 100 Women in Finance, the Southeastern Hedge Fund Association and PEWIN. Kate currently serves on the LP Advisory Committee for Hannah Grey Ventures, is a member of the Nexus Impact Society, a founding member of Asteri Collective, and is currently serving on the Editorial Committee of the Academy of Institutional Investors. She is a Founder + Board Chair Emeritus of Enough Pie, a non-profit in Charleston, SC. Kate has received the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designation, the alternative investment industry’s first and only specialized educational standard. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999 and completed The Executive Program of the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in June 2004. Kate was a 2014 Diversity Leadership Fellow at the Riley Institute of Furman University. Kate often speaks and moderates at conferences, has presented at TEDx and participates on committees advocating gender equality and conservation.

Lisa J. Pattis is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Next Chapter Holdings, based in Highland Park, Illinois. The firm manages investments for the Pattis family and The Pattis Family Foundation. Previously, Ms. Pattis served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Wintrust Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: WTFC). Prior to Wintrust, Ms. Pattis was a partner in the Chicago office of Sidley Austin LLP where for nearly two decades she specialized in corporate governance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic counseling for public and private companies. She began her career with the U.S. Agency for International Development in the Department of State, focusing on microenterprise lending in Africa and Latin America. Fluent in Spanish, Lisa has lived in Peru and Mexico. Ms. Pattis holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Princeton, a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from Stanford, and a JD from Northwestern. She serves on the boards of several community and cultural organizations, including as a Trustee of The Newberry Library, where she chairs the Finance and Investment Committee, and of the National Philanthropic Trust, where she chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Among other recognitions, Ms. Pattis was named a Leadership Greater Chicago fellow (2005) and one of Crain’s “40 Under 40” (2006). Ms. Pattis resides with her husband Mark R. Pattis in Highland Park, Illinois and Asheville, North Carolina.

Mark E. Roberts, CFA serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Ironsides Asset Advisors, LLC, as well as a Managing Director for the Tuscarora Company (a family office).  Immediately preceding, Mr. Roberts was the Director of Global Equities and Hedged Strategies for the North Carolina Retirement Systems where he and his team were responsible for the management of the $33 billion Global Equity and Hedge Fund portfolios for the State of North Carolina.  Additionally, Mr. Roberts has provided consulting services for endowments and foundations.  Mr. Roberts served as Director of Risk Management for Centura Bank and had asset – liability management responsibilities.  Mr. Roberts received his Master of Science degree in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts and the American Finance Association.

Mr. Roberts serves on the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine Philanthropic Advisory Board and on the NC Investment Authority Board for the State of North Carolina Retirement System.  Mr. Roberts is the past Chairman of the Board for the NC State University Investment Fund and has served on multiple non-profit boards.

Liza Scott joined CornerStone Partners in 2023 as Managing Director and serves as the CIO for a subset of the firm’s non-profit clients. She was previously the Director of Asset Management/Assistant Treasurer at Dominion Energy, Inc. where she oversaw over $20 billion of pension and other assets. Prior to Dominion, she spent 11 years at Spider Management Company, the investment office of the University of Richmond and outsourced investment office for over 25 other endowments and foundations. Before Spider Management, she was an Associate at J.P. Morgan Investment Management in New York. Prior to attending business school, Liza was a high school teacher at a New York City public school through the New York Teaching Fellows program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in foreign affairs and Spanish from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. Liza serves on the University of Virginia Foundation Board of Directors and the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees.

Anne L. Shelton, CFA, is Chief Investment Officer of American Trading and Production Corporation (Atapco), a multi-generational single family investment company owned by descendants of the founders of American Oil. She oversees all investing for the multi-asset class portfolio except for the company’s direct real estate investments. Additionally, Anne chairs the investment committee for the Jacob and Hilda Blaustein Foundation, the largest of the family’s foundations.

Previously, Anne was Deputy Chief Investment Officer of the American Red Cross where she led the team investing in all types of alternative investments including private equity, distressed debt, real estate, real assets, and hedge funds, for the $1 Billion endowment and $2 Billion defined benefit pension plan. Anne also worked as Director of Absolute Return at Cornell University and at McKinsey in the Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice.

Anne currently serves as a member of the Investment Committee of the American Psychological Association. Previously, Anne served as a Public Advisor to the Investment Committee of the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System, and on the boards and multiple committees of both the CFA Society of Washington DC and the YWCA National Capital Area.

Anne earned a B.S. with distinction in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. with distinction in Finance and Marketing from New York University Stern School of Business.

Adela Skenderasi is Chief Investment Officer at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where she oversees the Foundation’s investment portfolio and lead long-term investment strategy. Prior to joining the Foundation, Adela was a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory. She was responsible for managing the investment portfolios of endowment and foundation institutional clients and also providing specific guidance on their long-term investment objectives. Previously, Adela worked for 8 years as a Senior Investment Officer at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she oversaw all aspects of portfolio management for the defined benefit plan and healthcare benefit assets of the institution. In 2018, Adela took a sabbatical from the IMF to join the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Switzerland, where in addition to overseeing the externally managed funds of the defined benefit plan, she contributed to the alternative investments review and co-authored research papers on sustainable investing and climate change impact on public investors’ portfolios. Prior to joining the IMF, she was Director of Investment Operations for Georgetown University’s Investment Office. Adela holds an MBA with a focus in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and has been a CFA charterholder since September 2011.

Ms. Snider joined Hackensack Meridian Health in 2020 as their first CIO with the mandate to build an investment office that will support the organization’s mission of transforming healthcare and being viewed as a leader of positive change. The HMH investment office manages both the endowment and pension assets for the hospital system. Prior to joining HMH, Donna was a Managing Director at The Kresge Foundation since 2009 where she had responsibility for evaluating investment opportunities across all asset classes as well as oversight for the internal trading activity. Prior to joining Kresge, Donna was a director in the Global Markets and Investment Banking division of Merrill Lynch in New York where she covered institutional investors for structured credit, rates and equity products, as well as corporate issuers for their balance sheet hedging activity. Prior to Wall Street, Donna was a pension actuary with Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson) in Chicago. Donna earned her MBA with concentrations in accounting and analytical finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business; she holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa; professional designations include CFA charter holder and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.

Mark Steed is Chief Investment Officer for Arizona PSPRS, a public pension plan with approximately $9 billion in AUM. Over the last 10 years at Arizona PSPRS, Mr. Steed has managed Private Equity, Venture Capital, Absolute Return, Opportunistic Credit, Public Equity, Global Trading Strategies and Real Estate portfolios. His creative approach and notable performance across disparate asset classes won him recognition as a “Rising Star” by Money Management Magazine and, later, “Asset Allocator of the Year” by Institutional Investor. Mr. Steed recently concluded a four-year stint as a forecaster for the distinguished Good Judgment Project, led by Dr. Phil Tetlock at UPenn, and recently published the first guest-post on the popular decision science blog Farnam Street. Prior to Arizona PSPRS, Mr. Steed worked in Banking at JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Steed graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University. He also has an MBA from Thunderbird’s School of Global Management (Jost Henkel Scholar) and received his BA (with honors from Sigma Iota Rho) in Latin American Studies and Business Management from Brigham Young University.

Kyle Stewart serves a Senior Investment Director at Children’s Health Medical Center Foundation based in Dallas, TX. Kyle focuses on the Foundation’s marketable investments including Public Equities, Diversifying Strategies, Fixed Income and Liquid Real Assets.

Prior to joining Children’s Health, Kyle was a senior investment professional at Irvington Capital and previously held roles at CTC myCFO, Taylor Investment Advisors and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Kyle holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas Tech University and a M.S. in Finance from Southern Methodist University.

Andrea Szigethy is the Founder and CEO of the Academy for Institutional Investors (AII), where she has spent more than two decades bringing together some of the most sophisticated minds in the investment world. Earlier in her career, Andrea worked at North Shore University Hospital in New York as a vocational rehabilitation job coach and began her professional journey at Computer Associates on Long Island.

Andrea serves on the Strategic Advisory Board for CFA Society North Carolina and is a founding member of the North Carolina chapter of 100 Women in Finance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Albany and completed graduate coursework toward a Master of Arts in Social Work at Adelphi University.

Outside of work, Andrea loves spending time with her adult daughters and close friends. Andrea and her husband enjoy traveling, spending time at the NC beaches and playing golf and pickleball together. Andrea is a devoted music lover, she never misses a chance to see live concerts or Broadway shows of any kind.

As Director, Investments at Curi, Michael performs a wide range of investment portfolio monitoring and reporting functions, participating in formulation of asset allocation and investment strategy, and leads all aspects of investment due diligence. Prior to joining Curi in 2017, Michael worked as an analyst on the manager research team at LPL Financial, covering mutual funds and separate accounts in the areas of fixed income and real assets. Michael spent several years before that as an analyst at Franklin Street Partners in Chapel Hill and as an associate at Vanguard. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business, with a concentration in Finance from the Cameron School of Business at UNC Wilmington.

Dan Ward is the Chief Investment Officer at GreenHawk Corporation, a Single-Family Office based in Raleigh, NC. He oversees all public and private investments and leads investment strategy and portfolio management. He also sits on the board of a specialty finance company and on the board for the North Carolina Investment Authority. Previously, Mr. Ward was at the Virginia Tech Foundation from April 2008 and led its endowment until his departure in June 2023. Mr. Ward has been in the investment industry since 2000 and prior to Virginia Tech he was the director of research for Integritas Advisors, a multi-family office, from July 2004 – April 2008. Mr. Ward holds a BBA from The University of Michigan Business School, a MBA from The University of Florida Warrington College of Business and is a CFA charterholder.

Karen Horn Welch is Deputy, Chief Investment Officer at Spider Management Company, which manages approximately $6 billion in endowment assets for the University of Richmond and other non-profit institutions. In this role, she is involved in leading asset allocation and manager selection across the portfolio. She also works closely with Spider’s non-profit clients and their investment committees. Prior to joining Spider Management in 2016, Ms. Welch worked at Stanford Management Company from 2007 through 2015. She served as Director, Portfolio Strategy, leading asset allocation, portfolio strategy, and co-managing a portfolio of direct investments. Previously, she was Director of Public Equity, managing the endowment’s global public equity and long/short hedge fund portfolio. Prior to joining the Stanford Management Company, Ms. Welch worked at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, where she served as Manager of Investments. Ms. Welch previously worked as a Research Associate at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Harvard University Center for International Development and began her career at JP Morgan. Ms. Welch received a BA with honors in Economics and International Relations from Bucknell University and an MPA with a focus on international economics from Harvard. She is a CFA charterholder and member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Welch serves on the Investment Committee for CommonSpirit Health, a non-profit health care system, and on the St. Christopher’s School Foundation Board. She has also served on the St. Christopher’s Board of Governors as a member of the Bucknell University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Mr. Williams was a vice president of UNC Management Company from 2001 to 2007. At UNC Management Company, Mr. Williams was part of the senior team that managed the $2.1 billion endowment for UNC-Chapel Hill and affiliates. Mr. Williams had primary responsibility for UNC’s portfolio of investments in venture capital, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, real estate, oil and gas, and distressed debt. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Williams oversaw a venture capital portfolio of approximately $250 million in commitments to 27 managers. In this role Mr. Williams also served on the advisory boards of several private capital partnerships. Mr. Williams is a frequent speaker at global conferences on private equity investing and a guest lecturer on portfolio management theory and private equity investing at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to his career at UNC Management Company, Mr. Williams spent over five years in the private equity industry as a successful venture-backed entrepreneur and an entrepreneur-in-residence at Commonwealth Capital Ventures in Boston. Mr. Williams was previously a manager with the General Electric Capital Company and the General Electric Corporate Audit Staff. Mr. Williams received his MBA from Harvard University after graduating cum laude with a BA in Economics from UNC-Chapel Hill. In October 2012 Mr. Williams was named an honorary Kauffman Fellow by the Center for Venture Education, in appreciation of TrueBridge’s contribution and commitment to the Kauffman Fellows Program. Mr. Williams currently serves on the UNC Board of Visitors.

Emily serves as the Chief Investment Officer and chair of the investment committee at the firm. In her role, Emily provides oversight and guidance in managing and coordinating all aspects of investment activities and strategies consistent with its mission, objectives, and established policies. Prior to joining the firm, Emily was an Investment Officer at Oklahoma State University and a Vice President within the Investment Management Group at Hatteras Funds where she focused on sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management of alternative investments strategies across public and private asset classes. Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Randolph Macon College with majors in both Business/Economics and Accounting. Emily also obtained her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler Business School. Emily is a CFA® charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
